MAHAT · Practical engineers and technicians, software engineering

MAHAT exam: Algorithmics and Programming for software engineering

Algorithmics and Programming is the first MAHAT programming exam of the software-engineering practical engineers and technicians track: loops, one- and two-dimensional arrays, strings, functions and basic classes. WNC holds questions from several sessions, from 2021 to spring 2026, all with runnable test cases.

Exams in the practice library

Each group keeps the question order of the original paper. Every exam has at least one free question, and all four questions of the Python paper are free.

Question types that repeat

After three sessions the pattern is clear: input and validation, array processing, string processing, then one or two class questions. The questions change, the pattern does not.

  • Input and validation (opposite number pairs, valid phone number)
  • Arrays: triangular array, rising-falling array, array intersection, 2D arrays
  • Strings: beautiful string, repeat K times, unique string, substrings
  • Numbers: special number, alternating number, leading digit, average
  • Basic classes: Student, Song and Disc, Gift, Subject, Flight, Time
  • Basic complexity and choosing the right loop

C# or Python?

Most sessions are written in C#, and since 2026 there is also an Algorithmics and Programming paper in Python. On WNC you choose the language you will be examined in and run the code in that language. Same question, same test cases, language according to your track.

  • C# – the common language of the track
  • Python – exam 829307
  • Java and C++ also available

Practise alone, get help when needed

The library suits daily practice before the exam. When one topic keeps failing, a short private lesson with a teacher who sees your code closes the gap faster than another video.

Questions and answers

Which MAHAT Algorithmics and Programming exams are on WNC?

Exam 396855 (spring 2026), exam 829307 in Python (2026), exam 97104 (2022, including spring session A) and exam 635025 (2021), plus a general set of exam-style questions.

Can I practise for free?
